Item PS2 - QUARTZ
with Clay inclusions- Tate Blvd.,
Hickory, North Carolina; an interesting grouping of clear quartz
crystals has clay/mud at various spots inside. The quartz has
numerous etchings and "odd faces" throughout, and measures
2 1/4" x 1 3/8" x 2 5/8". The back is nearly complete,
but does have a few portions missing (some re-healed). Condition
is good. $95. |

Item PS3 - PHENAKITE
- Anjana Bonoina, Madagascar; (thumbnail)
a rather gemmy, terminated crystal of this beryllium silicate!
A nice, quality specimen, in good shape. $68. |

Item PS4 - CALCITE
- Cumberland, England; a nice (old) specimen
of dogtooth calcites, from two classic collections! This piece
came through both the Carnegie Museum (in Pittsburg) and the
W. W. Jefferis Collection, and both labels accompany the specimen.
Measurements are 3 1/2" x 2 3/4" x 1 3/4", and
condition is good. $90. |

Item PS5 - MARCASITE
on GALENA - Gordon Mine, Picher, Oklahoma;
a dull galena cube (1 3/4" x 1 1/4" x 1 1/2")
has a partial covering of golden marcasite crystals spread across
a few of it's faces. These (and other mid-western minerals) used
be everywhere, but now it's mainly the old collections that are
bringing these back on the market. This piece was an old Caveny
Creations inventory specimen, in good shape. $70. |

Item PS6 - HERKIMER
DIAMOND - Middleville, New York; a
high-end herkimer that I've had stowed away in inventory for
probably 25+ years (anyone remember the collector Ken Silvy?
I purchased his whole inventory at the Tucson Show in the early
1990's, and this was one of them). Specimen is two doubly-terminated
quartz crystals ("Herkimers" since they're from Herkimer,
NY) - both glassy, a light-smoky coloration, and in prime condition.
There's a minor bit of matrix near the base, which adds to aesthetics.
Dimensions are 2 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 4 1/2". $350. |

Item PS7 - CALCITE
with MARCASITE inclusions- Logansport,
Indiana; a matrix piece is loaded with calcites (some are present
on back as well), where the calcites are heavily included with
marcasite (there's enough marcasite to show numerous flashy spots
across specimen). Piece came through M. Phantom Minerals (includes
their label), and measures 3 3/4" x 3" x 5" as
pictured. A nice mid-western specimen, in good shape. $95. |

Item PS8 - Golden
BERYL - Spruce Pine, Mitchell County,
North Carolina; a piece of the pegmatite (mostly quartz, smoky
quartz and mica) has a half-dozen golden beryl crystals embedded
in it. Some crystals show iron-staining, and the longest of these
is roughly 1 1/2" long. Specimen measures 5 1/2" x
2 3/4" x 3", and condition is good. $70. |

Item PS9 - EMERALD
- Rist Mine, Hiddenite, North Carolina; a
2 1/2" long NC emerald - just under 1/2" wide - from
the old Rist Mine. Crystal is semi-transparant, and condition
is good. Note that larger Carolina emeralds are difficult to
find for sale these days (with no one currently bringing any
out). $2,300. |

Item PS10 - MALACHITE
on CHRYSOCOLLA - Mashamba West, Katanga
Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo; tufts of light-blue
chrysocolla run across the middle of a matrix piece, with round
malachite nodules in a seam mid-way up, and a larger (3/8")
nodule at the right. The color contrast adds to the looks of
this specimen, and dimensions are 2 3/4" x 2 1/2" x
2". Condition is very good. $59. |

Item PS11 - SCAPOLITE
- Vesuvius, Italy; a large, terminated, red
version of this silicate mineral (red is a rarer color). Crystal
stands 7/8" tall and 7/8" in diameter, with some faces
slightly "pocked" in places. Condition is good. $110. |

TOOTH - Texas Gulf Mine, Aurora, North
Carolina; a good-sized fossil shark tooth from NC - 2 1/4"
wide and 3" long. Condition is good. $55. |

Item PS13 - CARROLLITE
- Kamoya South 2 Mine, Katanga Province,
Democratic Republic of the Congo; silver-colored, dodecahedral
crystals of this (rare) sulfide of copper and cobalt run up a
seam in a white calcite matrix. Dimensions are 7/8" x 3/4"
x 1 1/4", with largest crystal being roughly 1/4" across.
Condition is very good. $90. |

on QUARTZ - Huaron, Peru; rounded
clusters of light-pink rhodocrosite have formed on top of a bed
of quartz crystals in this specimen. Dimensions are 2" x

- Foote Mine, Cleveland County, North Carolina;
a 1 7/8" x 7/8" x 2 1/2" matrix piece has an open
seam of pink rhodocrosite running across it. Seam is roughly

sample of the deep, royal-blue euclase crystals from one of the

- Medina, Minas Gerais, Brazil; a large,
terminated, naturally-blue topaz crystal from a well-known Brazilian
location. This specimen has good transparancy, and measures 3"

cuprite crystal is set on a 3/4" x 7/8" matrix section.

Congo; (thumbnail) a cluster of deep-green, elongated crystals

of octahedral fluorite crystals, with nice deep-green color and

QUARTZ - Enigma Mine, Hiddenite, Alexander
County, North Carolina; gemmy, brown, terminated smokies comprise
a high-quality (NC) quartz specimen. This came out when Chris,
Mark and I were digging a few years back (when it became the
Enigma). Measurements are 2 3/8" x 2" x 1 1/2",
and condition is fine. $195. |

nice sample of Canadian gold on a piece of milky quartz, with

- Puyva Mine, Ural Mountains, Russia; chocolate-brown,
glassy crystals of this iron-rich member of the axinite group
are clustered in a 1 3/4" x 3/4" x 1 1/4" specimen.
Piece is mounted on a thick, clear plastic base, and condition

Item PS24 - FLUORAPATITE
- Foote Mine, Cleveland County, North Carolina;
(thumbnail) (I was actually a bit surprised how good this specimen
is when I put it under nice lighting for the photo!) a quality
grouping of bi-color fluorapatites, showing the green/purple
color zoning, from the Foote. $85. BTW - Albemarle Corporation
is actively preparing this locale to be a source of lithium again.
They've gratiously set up a way to get TOURS of the facility!

Item PS25 - FLUORITE
and BARITE on SPHALERITE - Elmwood
Mines, Smith County, Tennessee; a nice Elmwood combination piece,
with three of the main minerals (crystallized) found there. Dimensions
are 4" x 2 1/2" x 3 1/2", with largest fluorite
cube being roughly 3/4" in diameter. Fluorites have a deep
purple coloration, and condition is good. $135. |

- Korshunovskiy Mine, Irkutien Region, Russia;
a 2 1/4" x 1 5/8" x 1 1/4" plate of deep-green
epidote crystals. Specimen has a nice lustre to it, and condition

as the pink color really jumped out at me. This one measures

da Safira, Minas Gerais, Brazil; green elbaite tourmaline crystals
are set on a portion of a tabular quartz crystal. Tourmaline

are 2 1/8" x 1/2" x 1 1/2", and condition is good.

specimen of this aluminum phosphate mineral, with a nice greenish-blue

- Pikes Peak area, Colorado; a 1 1/2"
tall, 1" wide, terminated amazonite, with a nice blue coloration
near it's base (the blue hues are apparently due to lead/water
impurities in the feldspar). A well-formed crystal, in good shape.

Morocco; a nice combination of blue and green copper carbonates,
in a 4" x 2" x 1" plate. Azurite "glistens"

- Anjerd Mine, East Azarbaijan Province,
Iran; a single, terminated vesuvianite - 3/4" high and 1/2"
wide, with a greenish-brown coloration. Most assuredly NOT a

I've carried). Condition is good. $70. |
